Boys Town proudly welcomed Olympic figure skating champion Nancy Kerrigan as the featured speaker at the annual Boys Town Booster Banquet. A two-time Olympic medalist and one of America’s most recognized sports icons, Kerrigan has inspired millions with her perseverance, dedication, and resilience on and off the ice.
“We were honored to have Nancy share her incredible journey with us at this year’s Booster Banquet,” said Rod Kempkes, Boys Town Chief Executive Officer. “Her story of perseverance, discipline, and overcoming adversity aligns with the values we instill in our student-athletes every day. Her message truly inspired our youth to dream big and never give up, no matter the obstacles they face.”
Kerrigan’s remarkable figure skating career includes a bronze medal at the Albertville Winter Olympics and a silver medal at the Lillehammer Winter Olympics. She also became the United States Ladies Champion and remains a beloved figure in the world of sports, known for her grace, determination, and advocacy for athletes’ mental and physical well-being.
The Booster Banquet benefits and honors Boys Town student-athletes. Held at its new location, A View West Shores, the evening featured a social hour, silent auction, dinner, and a powerful program celebrating youth athletics. The Boys Town Boosters were formed to ensure that every child at Boys Town has the opportunity to participate in sports. Funds raised through the banquet help provide equipment, uniforms, and access to athletic programs that teach valuable life lessons both on and off the field.
