Utah junior offensive lineman Spencer Fano visited Boys Town to tour the Hall of History and speak with media ahead of formally accepting the Outland Trophy at the awards dinner. Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 308 pounds, Fano made history as the first player from his school to receive this prestigious honor.
The Outland Trophy, celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, recognizes the top interior lineman in college football. The award has become a hallmark event in Omaha, honoring athletes whose dedication and skill have earned them this distinguished accolade.
Also being recognized at the ceremony is former Husker Dave Rimington, the only two-time winner of the Outland Trophy, who will receive the Tom Osborne Legacy Award. The event celebrates individual achievement while highlighting the rich history and tradition of college football, honoring players who have made a lasting impact on the sport.
